Today its raining and weather is perfect for having hot and spicy Pasta. So I decided to make a Spaghetti for all. Spaghetti is basically long, thin pasta and is typically made of wheat. Originated from Italian cuisine, Its very popular in other parts of world and now even I make it occasionally to get a change from our otherwise preferred Paranthas in breakfast. A good change is always welcomed. If planning a diet, you can still have Spaghetti by controlling portion size. I have used Del Monte’s Spaghetti as it always tastes good. The wheat-based Spaghetti is rich in fibre and it gives a real feeling of full if eaten with Chilly Paneer Gravy or Manchurian. Sometimes it tastes good with a choice of Sauces like Tomato Sauce, Chilly Sauce. Its a complete meal when had with gravy dishes. I have tried here is a very basic recipe with no added veggies as I decided to have it with chilly Paneer. I have cooked it with garlic, black pepper, oregano and salt and oil. Generalli, I use Olive Oil for making Pasta or Noodles but this time I experimented it with Mustard Oil and the results were amazing. Its been believed and seen that mustard oil adds crispyness and a strong flavour to the food. Its a healthy oil as its low in saturated fats and high in unsaturated fats. These days I have been making Paranthas in mustard oil (generally I Use Desi Ghee) and they turned out to be crisp and It became difficult to decide which were better. You can choose the oil you are comfortable. If making them for kids, we can always add vegetables like carrot, tomato, capsicum, cabbage, etc. In few days, I would be trying Spaghetti Pesto and would be sharing that too.

Till then you try this and do share your experience with me. Happy Cooking!!

Instructions
  1. Take full pack of Del Monte Spaghetti. I have used around 75% of this pack. You can take any other brand as well.

  2. Take a Steel Container (big Patila) for boiling the Spaghetti in water.

  3. My Container was not wide enough so I had broken the strands of spaghetti into half. Also they would be convenient in eating if they are not very long strands.

  4. Add sufficient amount of water to it so that they are fully soaked in water. Boil them on full for five min. Then cover with lid and simmer. Keep checking in between so that they dont stick to the bottom. They should have become tender by now.
